Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
- Is an approach that uses many strategies to meet the needs of many diverse learners in one classroom.
- All learners are unique, and should be provided with the opportunity to not only learn in their own way, but also to show their learning in their own way.
- All learning styles as well as physical and sensory abilities are considered and given the chance to be successful.
What is UDL? The Three Principles of UDL
Engagement: How we stimulate engagement and interest into tasks/assignments and learning.
Representation: Using different forms of technology and other resources to engage our learners.
Action/Expression: Allowing our learners to show their thinking and learning in a variety of ways. We as teachers would not assess in any one way for all students.
